Welcome to my website

Hi.
Thanks for having a look at my website. I am a chainsaw carver from Cheshire - near to Tatton Park. I only use Stihl chainsaws - they are excellent. I take commissions to sculpt trees and logs using Stihl chainsaws and other tools.

If you would like to contact me you can call me on my mobile: 07711 045437, or you can reach me by e-mail  at tim.burgess7@btinternet.com  (NOTE: I ALWAYS acknowledge e-mails and respond as soon as I can. If for some reason you get no reply to an e-mail then I may not have received it - so please give me a call).

I have created carvings for individuals, businesses, Councils, schools, the Forestry Commision and charities. I also give chainsaw carving demonstrations (including ice-carving) at functions, events, schools, and colleges. Give me a call if you would like a quote - my rates are very reasonable

If you are having a tree felled, then you may want to ask the 'feller' to leave you with a stump that can be carved into something of your choice.  Alternatively, if the whole of a much-loved tree is removed then you might want to keep some of the trunk for something to be carved for your garden/school/workplace. I create sculptures from 'green' wood that would otherwise be burnt or left to rot.

Click on this link to view a 5 minute time lapse video of me chainsaw carving an owl for Russell Wood (who made the videoand set it to 'Benny Hill' music!). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lzDIBv-JpyY

You can see photos of some of my chainsaw carvings by scrolling down the page and 'clicking' on any of the photos on the left or right side of the screen. The photos on the right - under 'Creating the Wizard of Thieves Hollow', show 'step by step' how a carving is created. I do not take or publish photos of all my carvings - for example, owls, eagles, buzzards and bears.

WATCH ME CARVE: In 2009 I will be chainsaw carving at a variety of shows and competitions - I will publish details here as they become known. Please note: At all the following events chainsaw carvings can be directly purchased or bought at auction. My Photo

Photographs by others

  • Me - next to a chainsaw Carving
This folder contains photographs which I have been sent by people who have photographed me at work on a chainsaw carving, or who have bought a chainsaw carving. Some are professional photographers - as you can tell from the quality of their photographs.

1. JUST OWLS

  • Owl on a pole!
I get asked to chainsaw carve many owls - so many that I do not take pictures of them all. I thought I should add a separate section just for owls - because if you are thinking of asking me to chainsaw carve one for you then it is good to know the slight variations in style - very slight! NOTE: To return to the first page, and other photo albums, click on the LEAF and writing on the top left of the page, at any time.

2. CHAINSAW CARVINGS FOR SALE

  • Owl with baby owl in a nest
Most of my work is commissions, but occasionally I have time to make chainsaw carvings for fun - which I am then prepared to sell. Some of the carvings in this part of my website are by my brother Andy - who I have been training. I try to frequently update section so whilst there are some for sale prices shown - the chainsaw carving may have been recently sold. My brother will take orders for others. NOTE: To return to the first page, and other photo albums, click on the LEAF and writing on the top left of the page, at any time.

3. CREATING THE 'WIZARD OF THIEVES HOLLOW'

  • "I walked away as it was going dark..."
The following photos show how the 'Wizard of Thieves Hollow' was created, and the story that goes with him...... (Click on the photos to enlarge them and then look for 'next' - a description is shown at the foot of the larger photos) NOTE: To return to the first page, and other photo albums, click on the LEAF and writing on the top left of the page, at any time.
